Are Health Foods Really Good for You?
So-called "health foods" are sold in nearly every grocery store and pharmacy. But, do they really help you to stay well? Let's see if we can answer that question.
First of all, we need to consider the fact that God created the earth, and He created us and other living things with the intention that we would be able to live here. Amongst those other living things are mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, insects, and a wide variety of plants.
Now, let's consider what is necessary for us and all of those other living things to survive. For one, we need food, right? So, God made some of the plants to be the type that grow various types of food, like fruits, vegetables, and grain. These plants can grow good things to eat because God also made the earth's soil out of minerals that the plants need.
What we call health food usually comes from plants. These plants are just as much good food as the fruits, vegetables, and grains that we are used to eating, but for some reason we don't eat them as part of our normal meals. Yet, often they are good for preventing or fighting many of the health problems that people have. They are also often eaten by people other countries and cultures who recognize the health benefits, but for some reason are not usually eaten in the United States.
The bottom line is this: Because God created us to live on earth, He also gave us every type of nutrition that we need in order to be healthy. So, to answer the question above, yes they are good for you, and they do help you stay well.
