Does God Care If I'm Fat?

Pizza, chips, cheeseburgers, fries, and soda sure sound good, don’t they? But, did God choose for you to eat these things? With cookies and ice cream for dessert? Followed by a candy bar?

We each have a responsibility to keep our body in shape, to avoid getting fat, and to be healthy because our Heavenly Father created us for His purposes. We are His servants, and therefore must be ready to do what He says. How can we do that if we weigh 150 or 200 pounds when our ideal weight is 100?

God created everything that we really need to eat when he made fruits, vegetables and other plants, gave us milk from animals like cows and goats, and provided us with sources of meat and eggs. All of the vitamins, minerals, and protein that we need can be found in these things. So, this is what we should eat.

Besides diet, exercise is very important. Eating adds calories, but exercising removes them. There is a balance between diet and exercise, so we should pay attention to both. The foods listed in the first paragraph all have a LOT of calories, and none of them are very nutritious. If you eat them on a regular basis, you will not only fail to get the nutrition that you need, you will also need to exercise almost constantly to keep from getting fat. It’s not a good way to stay healthy.
